Coach’s Goal:
My goal-oriented and process-driven coaching style in hockey is designed to empower players to reach their full potential, excel as individuals and as a team, and ultimately achieve success on and off the ice. Through a structured approach that combines goal setting with strategic planning and execution, I strive to inspire and support my players in their pursuit of excellence in the sport of hockey.

About Coach Ghyslain:
Father of 2 hockey boys and native from Rockland, Ghyslain who is a former Cobras player has been involved with hockey for better part of 15yrs. From teaching Stick Handling and Power Skating hockey schools around the country from Vancouver, to Kelowna, to Halifax and Calgary and better part of the USA like New York and Washington. I’ve always had a passion for teaching the sport of hockey.
His personal Accomplishments as a player;

- JrB Morrisburg Lion Alumni
- JrC Rockland Nationals, Captain, League MVP and Playoff MVP
- Former RedBull Crashed Ice World Championship (7yrs), Top 32 Ranked Athlete, 2nd place Finish at the Worlds in St-Paul Minnesota

U10 - Jean françois dion

Coach’s Goal:
To support each player individually and understand their needs while learning the different aspects of the game. 

About Coach JF:
Resident of Alfred-Plantagenet, Jean-François worked with kids from minor hockey for more than 14 years. For his on ice experience, Jean-François was a group director for more than 12 years at many hockey schools in the region and head coach at the high school level for more than 8 years. More recently, he spends most of his time with the St-Isidore minor hockey and Cobras with his sons. 

Teacher by trade, Jean-François will implement a learning approach for everyone as a head coach. Each player will have the chance to thrive in a competitive environment where self discipline, sportsmanship and love of the game will be part of the experience.

U11 - Eric germain

Coach’s Goal:
For athletes to have fun while putting forth maximum effort to improve their abilities within a team environment that is disciplined and organized. 

About Coach Eric:
Throughout a career of 20+ years of coaching and teaching, Eric has been in charge of around 70 to 85 teams in all different sports and different levels. That has garnered him a lot of experience that he can use to navigate through the seasons. Eric has been head coach for different hockey teams since 2015 (head coach for the 2011 Cobras for the last 2 years).

His coaching philosophy is one of creating a culture of respect, good sportsmanship, teamwork where maximum effort is valued. The emphasis is on the process not on the result. The coaching staff will create a safe and fun competitive environment where the athletes are not afraid to make mistakes and learn from them in order to improve their knowledge, maximize their potential and abilities throughout the season. The team will be a safe environment for the athletes where they feel comfortable to take risks and get out of their comfort zone to improve their skills and performance. Eric expects a positive attitude, appropriate behavior and for each member of the team to be respectful and accountable to themselves and each other. 

U12 - Martin Beaulne

Coach’s Goal:
To try and better every player in their own way by pushing them not only as a hockey player but as individuals on and off the ice.

About Coach Marty:
Marty wishes to create a positive environment for players, parents and coaches and bring them to compete with integrity, respect and sportsmanship. He strongly believes that hockey is like everyday life, if you do not put in the effort, you will not see results. Teamwork, discipline and perseverance are all things Marty values as a coach.

U13 - Joseph Lahaie

Coach’s Goal:
Ensure a great team spirit, focusing on the efforts and development of your youngsters and, above all, having fun while respecting them!  TEAM SPIRIT / EFFORT / DEVELOPMENT / RESPECT

About Coach Joseph:
Devoted father of two. One of them being a field hockey player at U13 level. That said, field hockey is part of Joseph’s daily life!

Former player who received many accolades in his teens for playing 8 years and counting at the competitive level for the Hawkesbury Minor Hockey Association. When his son told him at the age of 5 that he wanted to play, Joseph immediately got involved as a parent. Taking training courses and assuming positions such as trainer, IP coach, and assistant coach.

u14 - etienne lortie

Coach’s Goal:
To build a culture of respect, team first mentality, hardwork, building on the athlete's confidence and having a positive team environment.

About Coach Etienne:
Passionate father of two and native from Casselman, Etienne has been involved in hockey most of his life; either as a player or part of a coaching staff.  He is a devoted volunteer not only with hockey but also with baseball; making sports and teamwork part of his daily routine.  Dedicated and seasoned hockey coach with nine years of experience in developing players both on and off the ice. Passionate about fostering a love for the game while instilling discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Etienne works by creating a positive and motivating environment where players can thrive and reach their full potential.

u15 - allan sullivan

Coach’s Goal:
Create a positive team environment where every player has the opportunity and support to develop as an individual, teammate, athlete, and person. 

About Coach Allan:
Allan brings extensive experience as both a player and coach. He has been with the Cobras organization for eight years, serving as Coach, Assistant Coach, and Development Coach at the A and AA levels. Allan last year had the privilege of being part of a AAA organization and has decided to come back to help us continue the development of our young athletes. He played AA, AAA, and Junior A hockey in Rayside Balfour, Ontario, and has a passion for teaching the game.

In addition to winter hockey, Allan runs a summer skill development program that includes on-ice and off-ice activities, focusing on the mental aspects of the game. He specializes in body contact development. Allan has been nominated twice as one of the top 100 hockey volunteers in Canada and has won Coach of the Year awards in three different organizations.

Key to this development is building athlete confidence in a challenging yet supportive atmosphere that fosters a love for the game. Allan aims to instill a strong work ethic, a desire to compete, a team-first attitude, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement both on and off the ice.

u16 - zach power

Coach’s Goal:
Building a culture of teamwork, resilience, and continuous improvement. Success comes from the collective effort of every player on the ice.

About Coach Zach:
Zach works at teaching players the value of working together, communicating effectively, and supporting each other both on and off the ice. Hockey is a game of ups and downs. He believes in teaching players to embrace adversity, learn from setbacks, and bounce back stronger. Hockey is a strategic game. He wants the team to think wisely, make smart decisions, and adapt to different game situations. Whether it's understanding defensive positioning, executing effective plays, or capitalizing on opponents weaknesses.  Zach like to emphasize the importance of hockey IQ and strategic awareness.

As a player, Zach played his last year of Jr hockey for the Rockland Nationals in the CCHL. As a coach, he was the assistant coach of the Eastern Ontario Cobras U15 for the 2023-2024 season.

U18 - shawn pyke

Coach’s Goal:
To teach by his favorite quote: first on puck, attack with speed, win your battle, move your feet!!!

About Coach Shawn:
With a passion for hockey that began at a young age, Shawn embarked on his coaching journey at 17, and over the past nine years, he had the privilege of coaching at various levels including the Maxville Mustangs Junior C team.  Shawn has also dedicated the last eight years to the Cobras, where he served as both Head Coach and Assistant Coach.

During his own Junior hockey career, he played as a goalie for St. Isidore, being the first goalie to win MVP of the league. This experience as a player has deeply formed his coaching style, emphasizing the importance of individual skill development and team cohesion.
